The Packaging SAP Specialist is responsible for operating and maintaining the Semi-Automated Packaging Line on their respective shift and support of the overall department's performance goals. The position is responsible for the completion of operations on a daily basis. This includes meeting the daily packaging output goals, following the procedures as defined by SOP's, and executing specific written/verbal directions from the Packaging management team. The Packaging SAP Specialist is responsible for maintaining and ensuring their training is up to date and complete.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain an operational knowledge of the Semi-Automated Packaging Line and secondary support equipment including control and communication devices used in the process.
• Assist in identifying areas for process improvements through analysis of daily operations and process review.
• Perform defined preventive maintenance tasks at a daily and weekly level as defined by SOP.
• Support maintenance technicians to resolve equipment, communication and control issues.
• Ensure daily production goals are accomplished, complete daily production log and attend daily production meetings as required.
• Update ERP System with the use of raw materials for each production order.
• Prepare and setup the Semi- Automated Packaging Line for each batch run according to the production order.
• Monitor the Semi- Automated Packaging Line and support equipment during batch packaging.
• Perform process monitoring of the equipment.
• Ensure Semi- Automated Packaging Line is supplied with the appropriate QC released materials according to the production order.
• Ensure the Semi- Automated Packaging Line has been properly cleaned and line clearance performed at the end of each batch run and at the beginning of batch packaging.
• Perform reconciliation of materials, finished product delivered to the warehouse, and packaging rejects at the end of each batch.
• Ensure scrap materials have been disposed of properly.
• Notify the appropriate personnel when equipment failure or deviation occurs during batch packaging.
• Ensure appropriate housekeeping of the packaging line is performed.
• Assist on other packaging lines when needed.
• Participate in the internal and external training programs.
• Maintain a professional team-oriented working relationship with fellow employees.
• Follow all SOP's, safety and health guidelines and cGMP guidelines.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 65 pounds of equipment, parts or supplies.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED
• Proficiency with basic computer skills (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)
• Ability to establish priorities and meet quality expectations with minimal supervision
• Ability to operate in a team-oriented working environment
• Excellent documentation and attention to detail skills
