Packaging Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop packaging: protective containers, unique shipping racks, dunnage
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure packaging compliance and quality
• Analyze engineering specs to determine packaging requirements
• Lead cross-functional packaging projects and coordinate internal/external teams
• Evaluate cost and feasibility of expendable vs. returnable packaging
• Maintain packaging standards for inbound components and raw materials
• Own PFEP (Plan for Every Part)
• Support safety compliance and internal policies
• Partner closely with manufacturing, logistics, and purchasing teams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or equivalent experience
• 3-5+ years of packaging experience (automotive industry preferred)
• Familiarity with packaging testing standards (ISTA, ASTM, UN)
• Experience with PFEP, process flow mapping, and cost modeling
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CAD software such as SolidWorks or Catia (basic manipulation)
