PA Required

PA required in Pudsey (Leeds) to support a man with accessing leisure & social activities - Pudsey - LS28

Hours Per Week: 5 to 10 hours per week (to be arranged between us)

Hourly rate: £12.40 p/h (gross) weekday, £15.44 p/h (gross) weekend

Location: In the local community

We are seeking a PA for our 46-year-old son, who has mild learning disabilities. We would like an outgoing personality that could motivate him to try new activities. A car driver is required; he has a car that can be used if necessary. A shared interest in Music, Art, Tropical fish, and walking would be beneficial but not essential.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, reliable, conscientious, with a good sense of humour. You should be friendly and approachable, sensitive, flexible, and fun.

What are the duties?

1. Support to source and access interests and hobbies.
2. Support in accessing the community for fun activities, including attending any groups that he will be interested in.
3. Support making/meeting new friends.
4. Support to motivate him when feeling low.
5. Support learning new domestic skills (cooking).
6. Supporting the learning of new skills.

Requirements:

1. An understanding and previous experience with people with learning disabilities.
2. Flexibility towards planned activities.
3. Full clean driving licence.
4. A Full DBS check will be required. Any relevant experience will be considered if the skills can be applied to this role.
