Responsibilities:
This individual is responsible for growing sales with current contractor accounts and new customer opportunities. Responsible for working with builders and their customers (property owners) through all stages of the project life cycle to achieve cost, quality and schedule objectives.
Products sold by building materials sales specialists include foundation materials, premium lumber, fasteners, engineered beams/trusses/panels/components, roofing, decking, siding and other products to complete the enclosed building structure. This individual also works closely with our specialty products sales teams to sell windows, doors, millwork, cabinetry, stair parts and more to complete the project.
Building strong relationships with architects and builders is essential. Being involved in projects at the concept and design stage is critical to success.
The successful building materials sales specialist establishes clear service expectations and is responsible with our Preston Feather team to consistently meet these expectations - from estimate through quote, product sourcing, order, delivery and return/credit processing.
Working effectively with estimators, inside sales coordinators, dispatch/delivery staff and other support professionals is key to performing at a high level.

Successfully, our building materials outside sales representatives will develop new business opportunities and maintain relatioships with existing clients. Doing so, this person will forecast sales and product stocking needs, develop quotes, execute a sales plan, and do so according to our company values.
