Profile: Our client specializes in custom kitchen cabinets, vanities, and stone countertops-managing the entire process from design to installation with efficiency, precision, and a focus on quality. Their streamlined approach ensures on-time, on-budget delivery for both residential and rental projects.


They are currently seeking a Sales Representative for a hybrid role that blends sales and marketing, aimed at driving B2B growth and enhancing brand visibility through targeted outreach and strategic initiatives.


Territory: Greater Montreal, with plans to expand into the Ottawa region

Workplace: Work-from-home (must be local to the Greater MTL Area), with the possibility of working from the office.

Products/Services: Building Materials / Interior Finishing

Salary: Base $60,000-$75,000

Commissions/Bonus: $50,000 in the first year at 100% of objectives, with uncapped commission potential. Additional bonus opportunity tied to sales targets and strategic initiatives.

Car allowance: Car allowance or mileage reimbursement

Expense's reimbursement: All reasonable expenses reimbursed

Functions:

Primary Focus - Sales (70%)

  • Develop and close new business opportunities with builders, developers, and general contractors.
  • Proactively engage with design professionals to encourage inclusion in project specifications.
  • Host educational sessions, presentations, and guided showroom tours to build awareness and trust.
  • Monitor procurement platforms and industry channels to identify potential projects and bidding opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit tailored proposals and quotes, ensuring timely follow-up on prospects.
  • Cultivate long-term client relationships and deliver consistent post-sale support.
  • Stay informed on industry shifts and competitor movements to refine sales approach.

Secondary Focus - Marketing (30%)

  • Plan and contribute to both online and offline marketing efforts, including content creation and event participation.
  • Design and maintain marketing assets such as pitch decks, handouts, and promotional material.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure brand consistency and clear messaging.
  • Support CRM maintenance and analyze marketing data to improve engagement strategies.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry meetups, and other relevant events.

Requirements

Development vs Maintenance: 100% vs 0%

Road vs Office: 60% vs 40%

Languages: Fluency in written and spoken French and English required

Education: A degree in marketing is considered an asset

Training: On-the-job training provided

Overnight Travel: Occasional overnight travel required

Years of experience: 2-5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in construction, building products, or interior design sectors.


Other requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle

Transferable contacts:

  • Experience selling to or working with contractors, developers, architects, and designers.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proactive and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Comfortable with sales prospecting, lunch & learns, and lead sourcing through RFPs/tenders.

Transferable Knowledge:

  • Familiar with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and basic digital marketing tools.
