Position Description
The Outreach Representative will play a pivotal role in identifying and engaging public sector organizations interested in installing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for their fleet transport needs. The program offers financial incentives and technical support to help these organizations transition to EV infrastructure. The Outreach Representative will focus on prospect identification, educational outreach, and initial engagement, facilitating a smooth hand-off to the technical support team.
Objectives of this Role
- Identify and engage a targeted number of public sector prospects each quarter to ensure program goals are met.
- Effectively communicate the benefits and details of the EV charging program, increasing awareness and understanding among potential participants.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key public sector stakeholders to foster program participation.
- Facilitate a seamless transition of prospects to the technical support team by accurately documenting and communicating prospect needs and readiness.
- Contribute to continuous program improvement by providing feedback on outreach outcomes and participant inquiries.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach to public sector organizations, including municipalities, school districts, and government agencies, to identify potential participants interested in EV charging infrastructure.
- Educate prospects about the benefits of EV charging for fleet operations, available financial incentives, and the support provided through the program.
- Schedule and conduct informational meetings, presentations, and webinars to promote program participation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, industry associations, and relevant community groups.
- Gather and document information about prospect needs, readiness, and potential barriers to participation.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure a seamless hand-off of engaged prospects to technical support staff for further assistance.
- Track outreach activities and engagement progress in the program's CRM system (e.g., HubSpot).
- Provide feedback to the program team on common questions, concerns, and opportunities identified during outreach efforts.
- Participate in program events, conferences, and workshops as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in outreach, sales, community engagement, or related roles.
- Experience working with public sector organizations is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and educate diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of EV charging infrastructure, sustainability initiatives, or energy efficiency programs is a plus.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot).
- Ability to travel locally as required for outreach activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in energy efficiency, utilities, electrification, or sustainability marketing.
- Proficiency in marketing platforms like HubSpot, Canva, Google Ads, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of trade ally networks, contractor outreach, and customer engagement strategies.
- Familiarity with demand-side management (DSM) programs and decarbonization initiatives.
- Experience working with utility program marketing regulations and compliance.
