The Outpatient RN Supervisor is responsible for directing and supervising the daily operations of their assigned departments. The RN Supervisor must possess the ability to make independent decisionss and must be knowledgeable of nursing practices in each area. They must have firsthand knowledge of the roles of their assigned departments and must be able to step in to staff or trouble shoot any of these positions. The Supervisor is aware of IP measures and nursing regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Schedules:
  • Clinical Staff
  • Oversees clinical staff, including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Techs.
  • Plan and post schedules, approve and arrange coverage plan for PTO requests.
  • Reconcile and edit employee and provider timecards for approval.
  • Communicates to staff when a provider is scheduled out on PTO/CME and associated coverage plan.
  • Accepts and manages all daily call outs from clinic staff and providers.
  • Schedule Super User
  • Block provider schedules after PTO/CME requests have been approved.
  • Schedule modifications as directed.
  • Investigate staff concerns or observed issues. Provide coaching as needed. Forward concerns as needed to Manager.
  • Assists in hiring, training, supervising, and managing the performance of clinical staff.
  • Ensures staff complete required training and competencies.
  • Development and delivery of staff annual evaluations in collaboration with Manager.
  • Provides coaching to staff on performance issues in real time.
  • Assists the Manager with community relations and outreach activities.
  • Assists the Manager with the development of clinic annual plans for performance improvement.
  • Assists the Manager with the maintenance of the clinic and management of facility needs.
  • Contact point for vendors and assists in reconciling bills from vendors.

Patient complaints:
  • Interview patients as necessary to understand complaints and satisfy immediately if possible within scope of responsibility.
  • Submit Safety Zone events for complaints/concerns expressed by patients for assignment to Manager for investigation and/or resolution.

Meetings:
  • Organize meetings, prepare an agenda and record minutes as assigned by the Manager.
  • Communicate and post meeting minutes.
  • Orders all medical, office, and medication supplies according to PAR levels.
  • Monitors Clinical Staff Compliance with DOH, along with other assigned regulatory compliance duties.
  • Prepares accurate, timely and professional business reports as assigned by the Manager.
  • Manages special projects and events and participates on special committees as assigned by the Manager.
  • Provides input on operational goals and manages operations to achieve set targets and goals.

Compliance:
  • Monitors and reports on staff compliance with all Federal and State standards, regulations, and laws.
  • Monitors and reports on staff compliance with all Snoqualmie Valley Hospital and Department policies.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coverage for RN support team
  • Other duties as assigned and accepted

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Registered Nurse graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: BLS required, ACLS required. Current state registration

SKILLS:
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other computer-based tools
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and written
  • Capable of collaborating with a variety of personality types
  • Capable of independent supervision and efficient time management
  • Comfortable with multiple on-going projects and interruptions
  • Ability to work with providers and personnel who have clinical, business or technical backgrounds
  • Demonstrated competence in clinical assessment
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service

Eligibility Requirements - Employees regularly scheduled at least 20 hours per week.

Employee Dependents - Your legal spouse or domestic partner, Dependent children until age 26.

Waiting Period - 1st of the month following 30 days from your date of hire.
