We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon for full-time locum tenens coverage beginning July 1, 2025, with an ongoing need. This position involves both clinical and surgical responsibilities with Level 3 trauma call. The ideal candidate will have a clean malpractice history, an active Iowa license or IMLC, and the ability to commit to at least 2 weeks per month of coverage.
- Conduct outpatient clinic Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Provide 24-hour trauma/orthopedic call coverage
- Perform follow-up visits in the clinic post-call
- Handle inpatient rounding, ED consults, and OR procedures
- Supervise 7 Advanced Practice Providers
- Participate in teaching (Internal Medicine and Family Medicine residency + PA students)
- Perform a wide range of orthopedic procedures, including:
- Total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements
- Surgical care of hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot
- Trauma, fracture care, and sports medicine
- Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery (REQUIRED no Board Eligible accepted)
- Active Iowa license or active IMLC (LOQ must be submitted)
- Clean malpractice history (REQUIRED)
- Must be able to start by July 1, 2025
- Must be available for at least 2 weeks/month

- Call: 24-hour trauma/orthopedic call (with clinic follow-ups)

- Ability to work in high-acuity settings
- Comfortable using GE Centricity and Epic EMRs
