Facility: A private, not-for-profit health care center, licensed for 346 beds that serves as a regional referral and teaching hospital, providing comprehensive healthcare services to residents across 15 counties in northern Iowa and southern Minnesota.

  • Looking for FULL TIME locum Orthopedic Surgeon for July-Ongoing Coverage.
  • Start date: 7/1/25
  • Full time Locum Orthopedic Surgeon
  • Clinic Days: M-F
  • Clinic Hours: 8a-5p
  • On Call: Yes
  • Inpatient Responsibilities: Rounding on post-op patients, inpatient/ED consults, OR
  • Job Responsibilities: Clinical, Surgical, Trauma/Orthopedic Call
  • Number of Physicians: 4
  • Number of Advanced Practice Providers: 7
  • Supervision of APP expected: Yes
  • Physician Nurse Ratio: 1 nurse/provider, 3 cast techs/7 providers
  • Ancillary Staff per Provider: 3 Reception/7 providers, 2 Surgery Schedulers/7 providers
  • Number of Exam Rooms per Provider: 2 exam rooms and 3 cast rooms
  • Medical Imaging: Yes
  • Lab & Pharmacy: Yes
  • Average Daily Hospital Practice Census: Mainly consults, current avg hospital daily census 160 pts/day
  • Appointment Length: 10-30 depending on new consult, recheck, post-op, or procedure
  • Demographics: Hub Hospital, Serve 16 surrounding counties, Population 200,000+
  • EMR: The clinic's EMR is GE Centricity. The hospital's EMR is Epic. (The clinic won't be switching over to Epic until December)
  • Teaching Opportunity: IM and FM residency; PA student rotation
  • Services offered in the practice: Total hip, knee, and shoulder replacement. Hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot surgical procedures. Trauma injuries, fracture care, sports medicine, and other disorders.
Compensation: Competitive weekly pay and malpractice included.
