The Orthopedic TraumaNP/PA will play a crucial role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treatingorthopedic trauma patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.Responsibilities include assisting in surgical procedures, performing fracturereductions, casting, splinting, wound care, and joint aspirations/injections,and managing pre-operative and post-operative care such as hospital rounds,discharges, and follow-up visits. The provider will collaborate with a multidisciplinaryteam, including surgeons, nurses, and physical therapists, to develop andimplement patient treatment plans. Additional duties include ordering andinterpreting diagnostic imaging and lab tests, documenting patient encountersusing electronic medical records (EMR), and ensuring seamless coordination ofcare for trauma patients.
Qualifications: - Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program
- Certification as an NP or PA (Orthopedic or Trauma experience preferred)
- Licensure to practice in the state of South Dakota
- Experience in orthopedic trauma, emergency medicine, or surgical specialties is highly desirable
- BLS and ACLS certification required
