Position Overview: An established healthcare facility in the scenic foothills of a southeastern state is seeking a skilled and dedicated Full-Time Hand and Upper Extremities Surgeon to join a dynamic orthopedic team. This opportunity allows you to step into a robust practice with an existing patient base as a senior surgeon transitions. The ideal candidate will excel in hand and upper extremity surgeries and be prepared to serve a diverse patient population. Opportunities for general orthopedic surgery and hip fracture care are available, providing a well-rounded and dynamic practice environment. Key Responsibilities: - Provide expert care in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of hand and upper extremity conditions. - Perform elective and emergency surgical procedures for related conditions. - Develop comprehensive treatment plans, including surgical and non-surgical options. - Collaborate with orthopedic specialists for general orthopedic surgery and hip fracture care. - Engage in patient consultations, evaluations, and follow-ups, ensuring thorough documentation and care coordination. - Participate in preoperative and postoperative management, monitoring patient progress and recovery. - Stay current with advancements in hand and upper extremity surgery for improved patient outcomes. - Mentor surgical staff, residents, and medical students as appropriate. - Participate in the on-call rotation, providing after-hours care as needed. Work Schedule: - Full-time position with a mix of clinic hours and surgical procedures. - Flexible scheduling offering potential for work-life balance. - Shared call coverage with the orthopedic team. - Opportunities to expand into general orthopedic surgery and hip fracture care. Required Qualifications: - Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school. - Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery focused on Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery. - Current, unrestricted medical license or ability to obtain one. - Experience in hand and upper extremity surgery, with a solid understanding of anatomy, pathophysiology, and advanced surgical techniques. - Collaborative team-oriented mindset. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first approach. - Ability to manage a high volume of patients while maintaining quality care. - Interest or experience in general orthopedic surgery and hip fracture management is a plus.
