Our client is seeking a highly skilled and autonomous Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with experience in orthopedics and neurology to join their multidisciplinary care team. This role involves providing advanced clinical care to patients with musculoskeletal and neurological conditions across multiple sites in New York City. The ideal candidate is confident in independent decision-making, patient education, and inter-borough travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments and physical exams for patients with orthopedic and neurological conditions
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic musculoskeletal and neuro-related disorders
Order and interpret diagnostic tests including X-rays, MRIs, and EMGs
Perform joint injections, splinting, and other minor procedures as appropriate
Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, physical therapists, and other specialists
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and rehabilitation referrals
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery expectations
Document all encounters and care plans in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Travel between clinical sites in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx as needed
Qualifications:
Active New York State license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
National board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
DEA license and prescriptive authority in NY
Minimum 2 years of experience in orthopedics, neurology, or related specialty
Valid driver's license or ability to navigate NYC public transportation
Experience in outpatient specialty clinics or hospital-based consult services
