The Department of Orthopaedics is seeking two Physician Assistant Leads to join a team of advanced practice providers delivering orthopaedic services across the Dartmouth-Health system at many locations including but not limited to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Alice Peck Day Hospital, and New London Hospital. Responsibilities include recruiting, managing, educating, and mentoring a team of APPs as they work to address the growing demand for musculoskeletal services in the outpatient and surgical settings.

The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical practice in orthopaedics (possibly in non-operative sports and musculoskeletal medicine), leadership skills, and an understanding of APP education and workforce development. In collaboration with the Chief APP Officer, the Department Chair for Orthopaedics, and other leaders, this Advanced Practice Provider Lead will work to support each APP to practice at the top of their license and facilitate opportunities for professional growth consistent with the goal of contributing to the provision of high-quality, collaborative care.

This APP Lead will have some non-clinical time protected for these leadership responsibilities, and the area of their clinical practice would be discussed on interview.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree required.
  • 5 years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Orthopaedic experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and management experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and concisely both verbally and in writing with individuals and groups at various levels and various disciplines.
Required Licensure/Certifications
  • Currently licensed as an PA-C in the State of New Hampshire
  • National Certification from approved certifying body
  • Additional certifications must be maintained in accordance with applicable departmental requirements
