Primary Responsibility: This position is responsible for supporting the customer service department. Role will be responsible for creating sales orders and jobs ensuring roll specifications are maintained to meet the customer's requirements. The Supervisor may assign other tasks at the supervisor's discretion to support the department needs.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Correctly identify part numbers, descriptions, dimensions, receiving papers and associated purchase orders.
  • Coordinate customer's specifications, including new requirements, past orders, previous specifications, blueprints or drawings, prior production issues, processing failures, blueprints, or drawings.
  • Enter customer orders and respective roll specifications in Epicor Database.
  • Coordinate and ensure that all specifications are recorded into the computer system and printed on job routers.
  • Watch for and properly process and notify proper department personnel/scheduler when rush orders are received.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to accomplish daily company objectives by effectively communicating with Customers, purchasing, and scheduling personnel.
  • Ability to provide accurate quotes to customers.
  • Maintain a clean work environment, floors swept, supplies properly stored, office area cleaned and well maintained.
  • Awareness of and adherence to all suitable and relevant environmental, health, and safety policies.
  • Provide the best customer service in the industry by sending SOA and checking on status of orders.
  • Maintain records, files, and databases for future reference
  • Support the department head to meet and exceed company objectives in an efficient manner
  • Manage projects from start to finish, including project organization, maintaining schedule, meeting customer needs and managing projects costs
  • Handle customer complaints and warranty issues, provide solutions and negotiate credits, refunds, or rework options
  • Act as customer advocate and represent the customer's interests regarding quality issues and interpretation of customer's needs and specifications
  • Provide assistance to other departments as needed
  • Other duties as assigned to meet departmental and Company objectives.
  • Backup Check-in responsibilities
  • (BACKUP) Inspect incoming customer rolls and miscellaneous parts and materials.
  • (BACKUP) Ability to measure journals/bores and ability to check threads for any necessary repairs.
  • (BACKUP) Ensure incoming rolls and parts are labeled properly with the respective orders and order detail number.
  • (BACKUP) Assist in bearing, gear and part removal as required.


Minimum Qualifications


Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
  • Experience in a manufacturing or customer service position is preferred
  • Ability to meet expectations in a timely and efficient manner
  • Able to handle pressure well, be self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
  • Infallible integrity and ethical standards
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Language Skills
  • Read, Write, and understands English.
  • Read mechanical blueprints and interpret technical documents.
  • Write legible documentation conforming to prescribed style and format.
  • Communicates effectively.
  • Mathematical Skills
  • Utilize all inspection and measurement equipment per procedure and instruction, including Durometer gauges, Micrometers, Vernier diameter tapes, Dial indicators, Profilometers, temperature-indicating devices, and others as needed.
  • Understands/applies basic math, including accurate addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Other Skills
  • Learn and utilize safe operating procedures.
  • Strong reasoning ability.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to wear personal protective equipment (if entering designated manufacturing areas)-safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.
  • On-site position located in Appleton, WI
  • Stand, bend, and stooping for extended periods of time.
  • Reaches by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
  • Required ability to use finger and hand dexterity to manipulate objects and lift 35 pounds.
  • Vision ability within normal parameters.
  • Hearing within normal range.
  • Coordination to step over and maneuver around obstacles.
