ASSYST is seeking an Oracle PL/SQL Developer to serve as an Application Developer focusing on the following technologies:
- Oracle Forms
- Oracle PL/SQL
- PHP
- Classic Microsoft ASP (3.0)
This role supports the ongoing maintenance necessary to ensure the stability of applications within the clients portfolio.
Job Title: Oracle PL/SQL DeveloperLocation: Tallahassee, FL (Onsite)Roles and responsibilities: - Maintain, enhance, and support a variety of DEP business applications.
- Prepare and document program requirements and specifications.
- Conduct research and gather user requirements.
- Write, translate, and code software applications per specifications.
- Develop and maintain user manuals and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to resolve software issues.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior programmers.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): - 7+ years' experience with Oracle databases, including complex queries and PL/SQL DML/DDL development.
- 5+ years' experience developing with Oracle Forms.
- 3+ years' experience in database/SQL performance tuning.
- 3+ years' experience as a full-stack developer.
- Experience developing application reports with PHP and/or Classic ASP (3.0).
- Familiarity with code repositories, preferably Git.
- Experience using CI/CD tools, preferably Jenkins.
- Solid understanding of relational database design.
- Knowledge of Information Systems Development Methodology (ISDM).
- Proficient with database query tools such as TOAD, SQL Developer, or SQL Navigator.
- Understanding of role-based security and general database security.
- Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML).
- Creative problem-solving with the ability to foresee design and system issues.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): - Oracle Certifications
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies: Scrum, XP, Kanban.
- Web development experience using XML, CSS.
- Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, AngularJS, NodeJS, or React.
- Experience with environmental regulatory processes.
- Knowledge of the DEP's technical environment.
