Symmetrio is looking for an experienced Oracle E-Business Database Administrator to support a large government organization in Philadelphia, PA. This role is crucial in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of enterprise database systems. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in database design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting, along with a strong grasp of data security best practices.
This hybrid position offers an opportunity to work on a high-impact project lasting 6 months to 1 year, with a salary range of $120,000 to $130,000. Responsibilities
- Design, install, configure, and maintain database systems to support business applications.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and high availability across all database systems.
- Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.
- Perform troubleshooting and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
- Work closely with development teams to optimize queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies.
- Implement and maintain database security policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct regular system audits and generate reports for management.
- Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations as needed.
- Automate routine database tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator in a production environment.
- Expertise in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB).
- Strong proficiency in SQL and database programming.
- Experience with database security, encryption, and access control measures.
- Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
- Knowledge of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
- Ability to automate database tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
