Job Description:
Managing Oracle software upgrades and patch management. Monitoring database performance to ensure that it meets performance requirements. Creating documentation for database design, development, and maintenance activities performed by developers. Maintaining the security of the database environment using security features such as password policies, encryption methods, firewalls. Monitoring the performance of applications that access the database to ensure that they perform efficiently and without error. Performing manual backups of databases to external storage devices such as tape drives or optical disks. Monitoring resource utilization to ensure that database server performance does not degrade due to insufficient hardware resources. Managing database replication, including setting up replication schemes and configuring clients to use them. Designing, implementing, and maintaining database structures to meet business. Performing upgrades of the database and software to a new release level. Starting up and shutting down the database and managing the database's storage structures. Managing schema objects, such as tables, indexes, and views. Making database backups and performing recovery using export and Rman when necessary. Working knowledge on Tablespace, user creation, DB exp, Goldengate issues.
