Job Description
Responsible for providing support for operational database services to the organization.
Owns, tracks and resolves database related event, issues, incidents and coordinate with respective application and infra owners
Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
Supports 24x7 operations in rotating shifts, resolves incidents within SLAs
Reviews service related reports (database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs
Responding to investigate database related alerts and escalations and working with others within the organization to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.
Job Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration and support in Oracle versions 12c through 19c.
Expertise needed setting up, monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle Golden Gate.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
Expertise in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, leveraging appropriate monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Extensive experience with the latest Oracle performance monitoring tools and methods.
Expertise with physical and logical schema design and troubleshoot common issues.
Ability to detect and troubleshoot potential database related issues and constraints (CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, etc.).
Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, Database commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication.
Strong knowledge of how indexes work, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching. How statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively.
Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating Knowledge Transfer documents, run-books, topology etc.)
Ability to be on call production support on a rotation basis.
Experience working with SQL Server 2008/2012/2014 desired but not mandatory.
Experience in Cloud.
