Front Desk and Office Support:
This position serves as the front desk receptionist for the Office of the Vice President for Business Affairs, playing a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations and a professional, welcoming environment. Responsibilities include answering phone lines, routing calls, taking messages, and responding to routine inquiries. The receptionist warmly greets and assists all visitors, provides direction as needed, and represents the office in a courteous and professional manner. Additional duties include receiving and distributing mail and correspondence, managing the conference room schedule, and coordinating requests for its use. This position also ensures that common areas-including the lobby, break room, and copy room-remain consistently neat, clean, and well-stocked.
Other Duties as Assigned:
Provides general support to office colleagues as needed, including making copies, operating office equipment, and assisting with special projects. This may include occasional administrative tasks or contributions to broader team initiatives, as assigned by supervisors.
This is an in-person position, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (20-40 hours per week).
Expected Salary:
$16.00 - $18.00 Hourly based on experience.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Technical Skills: Experience with multi-line phone system and basic office equipment.
Customer Service: Passion for delivering exceptional customer service with a positive and personable attitude.
Organization & Time Management: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent time management.
Professionalism: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally, while demonstrating professionalism and flexibility.
Decision-Making: Ability to know when to involve an immediate supervisor.
Work Style: Ability to work independently, plan, organize, and coordinate assignments effectively.
Experience: Prior experience in a large, complex organization or academic institution.
