Ophthalmology Opportunity in Dunkirk, NY Buffalo 75mFull TimePermanent PositionFederally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Position Overview: Seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Ophthalmologist to join a multidisciplinary in Dunkirk, NY. The physician will provide a full range of medical and surgical eye care services to a diverse patient population in a community health setting. Compensation: Salary: $220,000 - $300,000 annually Key Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive eye examinations and diagnose ocular conditions Conduct surgical procedures including cataract, glaucoma, refractive, corneal, oculoplastic, and vitreoretinal surgeries Prescribe and manage medications, corrective lenses, and therapeutic interventions Provide post-operative care and follow-up management Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests Educate patients on ocular health and preventive care Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for integrated patient care Refer patients to subspecialists as needed Participate in teaching and mentoring of interns or residents Qualifications: MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency Licensed to practice in New York State CPR certified Skilled in ophthalmic surgical and laser procedures Strong manual dexterity and clinical judgment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Benefits: Eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) and NHSC loan repayment programs Malpractice coverage through Federal Tort Claims Act $10,000 annual premium support for family health/dental/vision plans ($5,000 for individuals) Comprehensive insurance options via Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of WNY 403(b) Retirement Plan with up to 4% employer match Generous PTO (4 weeks) and 6 paid holidays CEU allowance and professional dues coverage Flexible scheduling with no weekend shifts Location Highlights: Dunkirk, NY offers a beautiful setting on Lake Erie, with access to outdoor recreation, local wineries, cultural attractions, and proximity to Buffalo and Erie.
