We are seeking an experienced Operations Shop Manager to lead day-to-day production and maintenance operations within a fast-paced, FAA-regulated facility specializing in aviation repair services. This critical leadership role is responsible for managing personnel, equipment, tooling, and shop infrastructure while ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will bring a collaborative leadership approach, driving operational excellence by partnering closely with internal teams such as Sales, Finance, Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing to meet service delivery expectations, optimize efficiency, and uphold the highest compliance standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the shop floor, including planning, production, quality control, inventory management, purchasing, machine shop, and rotor shop activities.
  • Forecast parts requirements, ensuring timely availability to minimize downtime and support on-time delivery of services while maximizing profit margins.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to meet organizational KPIs and prepare performance and operational reports for leadership.
  • Ensure the shop operates in full compliance with FAA Part 145, EASA, and other applicable regulatory bodies, alongside internal company capabilities and customer requirements.
  • Act as a liaison for regulatory audits, maintaining the highest levels of compliance and readiness.
  • Identify and escalate any deficiencies that impact financial performance or safety standards.
  • Ensure maintenance procedures are documented, followed, and continuously improved.
  • Oversee employee records, including payroll, training, and development initiatives; promote a culture of continuous learning and engagement within the workforce.
  • Represent the company externally, fostering key client and vendor relationships; occasional travel may be required.
  • Maintain valid passport and driver's license to support business travel needs.

REQUIREMENTS: Education & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within an FAA-regulated repair station or similar high-compliance, aviation, or aerospace environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAA Part 145, EASA standards, and best practices in production and maintenance operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and driving operational performance improvements.

  • Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets, forecast parts, and monitor operational costs.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining compliance and safety standards.

  • Proficient in reporting, performance metrics, and process optimization.

Other Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid passport and driver's license to support travel requirements.
