PURPOSE:
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations within the manufacturing facility. This role ensures that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The Manager will lead a team of production workers, implement best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage production, supply chain, logistics, and overall operational processes to meet performance targets.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry regulations and safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and procurement teams to optimize workflows.
- Oversee inventory management, procurement planning, and supplier relationships.
- Lead, train, and mentor operational staff to enhance team performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Address operational challenges and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage Manufacturing Supervisors; 4 Supervisors and 100+ hourly production operators.
- Work with the Director of Operations, Production Control Manager/Supervisor, and Controller to establish monthly and quarterly performance goals.
- Allocate resources and assess annual performance in support of company goals.
- Provide guidance for manufacturing process planning, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling/equipment needs.
- Set expectations, provide resources, audit performance, counsel employees, train, and establish policies to exceed department goals.
- Lead teams to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual performance goals.
- Coordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions and suppliers to optimize production and resource utilization.
- Ensure operations metrics are well known, track daily progress, and mitigate risks.
- Work with managers across all functions to accomplish organizational objectives.
- Perform administrative activities related to effective shop operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
- Participate in implementing and sustaining ABS (Lean Manufacturing) principles and practices.
- Maintain continual focus on improvements and enhancements.
- Promote an engaged workforce through positive behaviors on the plant floor.
- Implement company policies, including attendance, overtime, safety, and environmental guidelines.
- Assess employee performance and mentor staff.
SKILLS:

- Proficient computer skills, including Excel spreadsheets and graphs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 7 years of aerospace manufacturing operations experience.
- Minimum of 2 years as a demonstrated operations leader.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility required at hire. Visa sponsorship not available.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in engineering or business specialization.
- Experience in a complex manufacturing facility preferred.
- Experience in the fastener manufacturing industry preferred.
- Experience managing 50+ people preferred.
- Experience with TPS, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing principles preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking on the shop floor.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds at times.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
