LRT is growing, and we're excited to invite a skilled individual to join our team as an Operations Manager based in Pittsburgh. As part of our team, you'll oversee and manage all field and office operations. This role is key in ensuring successful project completion while driving operations that align with our company's overall objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy & Performance Management:
- Establish objectives, policies, and performance standards for construction projects in alignment with company policies and as defined by the Business Unit Leader. Drive SSQP, safety schedule, quality and production.
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and direct short-term and long-range strategies for field operations that support the company's overall goals and objectives.
Team Management:
- Participate in hiring, coordinating, appraising, and assigning field coworkers (both salaried and hourly), working with the Business Unit Leader and Human Resources.
Leadership & Mentoring:
- Provide leadership and guidance to Project Teams, and other supervisory personnel. Mentor and train project teams as needed.
Project Monitoring:
- Monitor project schedules, costs, and contractual commitments, safety and risk management. Collaborate with Project Managers and teams to resolve any cost, productivity, or schedule-related issues.
Project Controls & Documentation:
- Ensure proper project controls and documentation are maintained, including daily, weekly, and monthly reports, RFIs, OCOs, PCOs, field orders, and correspondence. Establish new controls as required.
Financial Management:
- Oversee Project Executives and Managers in handling financial aspects of contracts such as change orders, applications for payment, and payment collection. Ensure payments to subcontractors and suppliers are processed as needed.
Qualifications:
- Degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 8-10 years progressive experience in the construction industry.
- Continuing education should include learning in building technology, industry practices, superior communications, interpersonal strengths, tact, diplomacy and high ethical standards.
