Operations Supervisor PM Shift - Salary: $50,000.00 - $60,000 per year, DOE

Summary:

The Night Shift Operations Manager at Moran Transportation is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all night-time operational activities, ensuring efficient freight movement, maintaining high safety standards, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership to manage dispatch, maintenance, and dock teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Dispatch and Scheduling:

•   Provide leadership and direction to the Lead Dispatcher and Dispatch Team to enhance performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

•   Monitor and adjust scheduling to ensure adequate coverage while allowing for individual downtime.

•   Evaluate and assign driver routes, ensuring timely and damage-free deliveries.

•   Maintenance Oversight:

•   Supervise the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Team to uphold vehicle readiness, operational safety, and adherence to PPE and housekeeping policies.

•   Ensure consistency across shop locations by addressing mechanic training needs and identifying cost-saving opportunities, such as bulk purchasing.

•   Oversee maintenance records to ensure compliance and consistency.

•   Safety and Compliance:

•   Conduct and participate in location safety audits and accident/incident investigations.

•   Maintain awareness and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, including Hours of Service and environmental standards.

•   Train employees on safety rules and processes, fostering a culture of safety within the team.

•   Personnel Management:

•   Hire, develop, lead, and mentor a high-performing operations team that collaborates effectively across functional areas.

•   Coordinate training and support for direct reports to ensure consistent communication, coaching, and professional development.

•   Develop and implement targets and metrics to drive efficiency and continuous improvement across operational disciplines.

•   Customer Relations:

•   Build and maintain strong customer relationships through rapid response and creative problem-solving.

•   Seek out opportunities to improve customer service and satisfaction levels.

•   Budget and Resource Management:

•   Develop and maintain operating budgets to support fiscal responsibility and achieve financial goals.

•   Utilize systems for P&D and Dock Operations to maximize resource capabilities, including company assets, equipment, and personnel.

•   Prepare and compile production and service records to measure conformance to service center objectives.

Qualifications:

•   Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in transportation or logistics operations, preferably in a night shift environment.

•   Strong knowledge of LTL industry operations, safety regulations, and compliance standards.

•   Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

•   Ability to multitask and motivate teams in a fast-paced setting.

•   Proficiency in transportation management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions:

•   Night shift schedule with potential for extended hours based on operational needs.

•   Work primarily in a warehouse and office environment.

•   Exposure to varying weather conditions when supervising dock operations.

Physical Requirements:

•   Ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally.

•   Frequent standing, walking, and climbing on and off equipment.
