Operations Manager - The Exchange Pickleball + Bar (New Orleans, LA)
Location: New Orleans, LA (Hybrid)
Role Type: Full-time
Pay Rate: $45,000 - 60,000 base + bonus
The Exchange Pickleball + Bar is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily business and facility operations, ensuring smooth and efficient management of the front desk, bar, facility maintenance, and overall venue experience. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments to drive efficiency and enhance guest satisfaction, all while maintaining the highest level of customer service and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Operations Management
- Provide oversight and management of front desk and Bar at the Exchange with accountability for staff scheduling and ensure team adherence to job responsibilities
- Collaborate to solve issues, celebrate successes, and understand company financials through regular meetings with the owner(s) and colleagues on the leadership team
- Manage accounts payable and maintain accurate records with accounting and bookkeeping software
- Maintain inventory for merchandise in the pro-shop and take the lead for vendor relationships and reordering
- Oversee facility maintenance; develop punch list of daily, weekly, monthly maintenance activities for relevant staff to execute; order supplies; and manage contract with external janitorial service
- Regularly solicit guest feedback and create action plan to address issues and deficiencies
- Serve as a point of contact for troubleshooting issues with court booking software, knowing when to escalate larger issues to IT
- Partner with Pickleball manager and Events manager to ensure on-site events are staffed and serve as occasional point of contact for events held at the Exchange
- Develop agendas and follow-up meeting notes for company meetings
- Provide in-person support for the front desk in tandem with delivering on the above management responsibilities for a varying number of hours per week
Venue & Operational Marketing Support
- Design and manage signage to drive food & beverage, programming, and merchandise sales
- Support content creation for the website, email newsletters, and social media and ensure that all platforms are updated. (e.g. using premade templates and posting for last minute changes in calendar, closings, or late offerings
- Develop ideas and execute non-pickleball events such as trivia nights, comedy nights, and other creative ideas to generate non-pickleball revenue
- Utilize the booking software to execute tactical promotions that drive revenue, traffic, and engagement
- Maintain records of requests for sponsorships from community partners
- Ensure signage, decor, and all visual elements feel aligned with brand standards
You Have:
- Experience: 3+ years in operations management, hospitality, or a related field. Experience in bar/restaurant or recreation facility management is a plus.
- Skills: Strong leadership, multitasking, and organizational abilities. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), web browser, and social media platforms.
- Attributes: Hands-on problem solver, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and team-driven. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. A hospitality mindset, even under pressure
- Availability: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends, and on-site hours.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base pay range: $45,000 - 60,000
