Description
This position will report directly into the Director of Operations and be responsible for:
Achieving department goals related to safety, quality, cycle time, and on-time delivery
Planning and directing area operations to ensure safe and efficient performance
Applying leadership skills to guide, motivate, and train team members
Managing schedules and overseeing workforce activities in the assigned area, including machining completion
Evaluating employee performance in the metal forming department, implementing improvement plans, and administering disciplinary actions when necessary
Assisting in the creation of work instructions for all metal forming processes
Monitoring processes and tasks to identify issues and find areas for improvement
Identifying, planning, and leading improvement initiatives using continuous improvement tools
Maintaining a safety-conscious culture by raising awareness, identifying hazards, and addressing unsafe practices
Working closely with other departments to meet on-time delivery goals and ensure smooth production flow
Profile
A successful candidate will have:
- 5+ years of Leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong familiarity with machine shop operations, particularly lathe work
- Metallurgy or metal forming background preferred
- GD&T, problem solving and strong written/verbal communication skills
- Fork Lift certification preferred but not required
