Responsibilities: Must be familiar with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards. Knowledgeable in the use of network cabling test equipment (network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs and fiber power meters). Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure. Ensure the baseline configuration of all network assets and point-to-point circuits are documented. Ensure all systems are properly baselined, tested, and validated in accordance with DISA's Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG). Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of network assets and configurations. Use cable testing equipment (to include cable testers, multimeters, and optical power meters). Familiarity with cable management techniques to ensure organized cable runs. Possess a basic understanding of IP networking concepts, including TCP/IP, subnetting, and VLANs. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces while adhering to safety guidelines. Dress, terminate, and test cables and components. Ability to work with power tools and ladders. Test, locate, install, and repair cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls, and perform routine maintenance. Install, maintain, and repair voice and data communications systems. Identify, track, and remove abandoned cable, and keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards.
