Key Account Manager - Logistics Operations Pittsburgh, PA


We're looking for a detail-driven and client-focused Operations Key Account Manager to join my clients team in Pittsburgh. In this role, you'll manage key client relationships while overseeing the execution of day-to-day logistics operations. It's more than coordination - it's about delivering tailored solutions, maintaining service excellence, and driving long-term value for customers.


Day to Day

  • Client Engagement & Relationship Building
  • Serve as the main point of contact for priority accounts
  • Develop strong relationships across client organizations, from operations to senior leadership
  • Align internal resources across divisions to ensure account growth and consistency
  • Guide new client onboarding and implementation of services
  • Keep clients informed of market changes and develop strategies to stay ahead

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daily freight operations and resolve any pain points
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure service quality and KPI benchmarks are met
  • Lead quoting efforts and identify cross-selling or upselling opportunities
  • Ensure data accuracy and on-time billing performance

Performance & Strategy

  • Track and evaluate account metrics against agreed service levels
  • Deliver customized reporting and business reviews with clear, actionable insights
  • Support contract reviews and pricing strategies
  • Analyze workflows to find cost-saving opportunities and boost productivity

Background & Experience:

  • 3+ years in key account or logistics operations management
  • Strong grasp of end-to-end supply chain, including transport, warehousing, and distribution
  • Experienced in implementing client-specific SOPs and continuous improvement initiatives

Skills & Tools:

  • Strong communicator, both with clients and cross-functional teams
  • Solution-focused, with a keen eye for spotting inefficiencies and risks
  • Proficient in TMS, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Business-savvy with a deep understanding of freight markets and supply chain dynamics
