POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking a highly motivated
Operations Intern to join our team and support various operational initiatives aimed at driving revenue, optimizing expenses, and enhancing overall efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for data-driven decision-making. This position is located in our Grand Rapids, MI office.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Data Collection and Analysis:
- Gather and input data related to aquatics operations, following established protocols.
- Conduct research and system testing to identify opportunities for improvement in operational processes.
- Perform regular cost analysis of vendors and review reporting to support informed decision-making.
- Intern Project:
- Undertake a designated project focused on enhancing profitability, revenue generation, or operational expense management.
- Develop strategic processes to improve the bottom line, drive revenue growth, and closely manage operational expenses.
- Operations Support:
- Manage the Operations Calendar and coordinate agendas for operations meetings.
- Assist in the development and refinement of the company's mobile application, including compiling feedback from users.
- Assist in procurement activities as needed to support operational requirements.
- Utilize business acumen skill set to narrow content and identify themes for ROMs
- Assist in managing daily operations by organizing tasks, scheduling meetings, and coordinating with different departments.
- Support asset management activities using the Onspring platform.
- Manage the Ops Focus newsletter and contribute to Symposium and General Manager Summit planning as a major project.
- Assist in the review, input, and audit of "The North Star" (TNS) data.
- Input and track Major Expenditure Authorization's (MEA) and assist in their upload and tracking.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE - Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Computer proficiency, including the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite, and Asana
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS - Currently a Junior or Senior enrolled in a relevant degree program (Business Administration, Operations Management, Hospitality Management, etc.) or recent graduate.
- Excellent organizational and process management skills.
- Collaborative, results-driven communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple deadlines and deliverables simultaneously.
- Operate with a high level of autonomy and a strong sense of urgency.
- Proficient knowledge of PC and Mac software applications and Google Business Suites.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced office environment.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Remain stationary for long periods of time
- Walk and occasionally stand during shift
- Ability to reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop
- Able to Lift up to 20 lbs
- Able to manipulate fingers, hands, and arms to reach, carry, etc.
