Our work depends on a Operational Readiness Test System Engineer joining our team to support the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) activities. At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Operational Readiness Test System Engineer supporting PEO IWS, you will be trusted to bring together a multi-disciplinary team that is geographically dispersed to provide engineering planning, design, integration, installation, and test of Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) onboard ships post-construction and during maintenance availabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the Aegis Command Decision (C&D) and Aegis Display System (ADS) are operational and available. Specific responsibilities include: Receive and perform assignments involving the analysis, design, integration, testing, installation, operation, product support, and maintenance of the Operational Readiness Test System (ORTS) components to include peripheral, interfaced, and support systems.
Ensure proper activation and operation of the ORTS within the hosting Aegis Weapon System (AWS) infrastructure including safety processes, diagnostic test procedure review, crew training and trials support, configuration and computer program operation and its interface with other elements.
Provide expertise in support of ORTS configuration and operation supporting the testing and employment of the ACS.
Identify, report, and resolve equipment and computer program issues with ORTS functionality, system equipment, system configuration and computer program.
Work as a team member to complete customer deadlines which may have competing/shifting priorities; and Document test procedure discrepancies for future revision. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: A Bachelor of Arts or Science (BA/BS) in the relevant field and 10+ years of experience in command and control engineering or related experience (or 15+ years of experience without a degree).
A US DoD Secret security clearance is required.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of the larger GDIT Navy and Marine Corps Sector.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
