Operational Manager of Children's Therapy Services

We are delighted to be recruiting for a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to provide strategic and operational leadership to our Children's Therapy Services, which currently include:

  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Speech and Language Therapy

The successful applicant will ensure continued and coordinated service delivery and development, including high-quality, evidence-based, and integrated approaches.

Main duties of the job

To ensure that specialist children's therapy services are provided according to best practice, in partnership with service users and partner agencies, working as part of a multi-agency system.

To ensure services are delivered in accordance with national and local policies, priorities, and regulatory frameworks, meeting all performance targets. To oversee that reporting requirements to commissioners are fulfilled.

To provide leadership and management to the service and lead a senior team comprising team managers and senior clinicians. To operate as a member of the operational leadership team and participate in the Trust's out-of-hours on-call duty system.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will:

  • Manage their allocated services effectively.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of care pathways, including triage, assessment, treatment, and discharge of children and young people and their families.
  • Deliver services in line with policies, priorities, and regulatory standards, achieving all performance targets.
  • Collaborate with clinical leads to uphold high standards of clinical safety and excellence.
  • Lead within the multi-agency network of children's services to ensure integrated delivery and improved health and wellbeing outcomes.
Person Specification Education / Qualifications

Relevant qualifications in healthcare management or related fields.

Experience
  • Proven experience in managing children's therapy services or similar healthcare settings.
Skills, knowledge, and ability
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-building abilities.
Other requirements
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and safety.
