Talascend is currently seeking an OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) Developer for a W-2 contract opportunity located in Grand Prairie, Texas.
SUMMARY:
Our client has a need for an OCP (OpenShift Container Platform) Developer to develop web solutions for their North American region. This is a full stack developer position mastering modern web technology frameworks and development best practices in order to refactor existing applications, extend the functionalities for new users and use cases and potentially design and implement brand new applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Refactor existing web applications on both front and back end to make them less monolithic and more modular.
- Upgrade existing applications to latest framework versions including libraries dependencies).
- Develop new modules or functionalities for existing applications.
- Design (author technical specifications) for new applications based on either business requirements or analyzing existing business own tools.
- Work with end client's Cloud & Automation team based in Europe for coordinating about the hosting platform and DevSeeOps pipelines possibilities and getting their support (The platform is based on OpenShift Containers).
- Work with the Digital Factory team based in Europe to ensure you are following end client's Development and Web Design standards.
- Work with the architecture, transformation and even business teams in North America (US and Canada).
- Work with our SAP development team in North America.
- Work with the Integration team (API and ESB) in Europe.
- Document your code, seek for a peer review in the Digital Factory Team in Europe, unit test your development and provide activity reporting to both your supervisor and the project manager leading the project you are developing for.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is preferred
REQUIREMENTS:
- US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
- 3-5 years of experience in DevOps, with a focus on OpenShift or other container orchestration platforms.
- Experienced in React, NodeJs, and MongoDB.
- Very good understanding of how to consume RESTfull APIs.
- A very good sense of modular design and reusable components.
- A good habit in documenting the code (documenting every single function in the code is a must).
- Gitlab (if you know GitHub or just Git, you should be good).
- Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
- Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD).
- Sequence Diagram.
- Three-tier architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Testing automation (Nice to have).
- NestJS (Nice to have).
- Angular (Nice to have).
