Advertised Job Summary:

The Department of Psychology at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, invites applications for one full time clinical faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor to begin August 16, 2025. This individual will serve as the inaugural Director of the Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders Clinic which leverages established expertise in diagnostic and treatment for children and adults with autism or related disorders. This position comes with full employment benefits, voting rights as a professional-track faculty member, and a competitive salary. This is an annual appointment that may be renewed contingent upon Dean's approval, satisfactory performance, departmental needs, and the availability of funding.

Required Education and Experience:

Doctoral degree (Ph. D. or Psy D.) in Clinical, School or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program by the time of the appointment. Licensed or license-eligible within one year after starting the appointment in the state of South Carolina.

Experience in clinical supervision. Research skills reflected in publications and/or funding in autism or a related field. Expertise in diagnostic and evidence-based intervention for autism and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Preferred Qualifications:

We are seeking exceptional applicants with clinical and research experience in autism and related neurodevelopmental disorders to advance the mission of the Carolina Autism and Neurodevelopment Research Center (CAN) to improve the lives of families and individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders including autism, intellectual disability, learning and genetic disorders by providing diagnostic and treatment services, training the next generation of clinician scientists, integrating with the community and contributing to research. CAN is an interdisciplinary research center of excellence dedicated to advancing research, training, and community support for individuals with autism or neurodevelopmental disorders. The Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders Clinic will be affiliated with the Psychology Services Center, the training facility for clinical-community and school psychology doctoral students in the Department of Psychology.
