Seeking a full-time BE/BC Medical Oncologist with breast cancer sub-specialization to join 4 breast medical oncologists in expanding cancer center.
- This position is open to mid-career medical oncologists, as well to physicians completing their fellowship with an interest in breast oncology, who desire to further their professional development in an academic-community healthcare system.
- The busy breast service sees over 600 new cases of breast cancer annually cared for by a multi-disciplinary team of fellowship trained breast surgeons and medical and radiation oncologists sub-specializing in breast cancer.
- The clinical team is well supported by pathologists and radiologists, many of whom are fellowship trained as well as by reconstructive surgeons, a mature genetic counselling program and an active nurse navigator program.
- Formal programs in survivorship, high risk care, patient education and breast rehabilitation services are in development.
- Breast Tumor Board meets weekly to discuss the management of individual patients.
- Hospitalist teams cover in-patient care with oncology consult service provided by medical oncology.
- There are opportunities to participate in teaching, clinical research, and quality/outcomes research.
- Academic accomplishment in clinical trials or quality improvement is highly desirable
