Job Opportunity: Medical Physicist - Radiation Oncology

The nationally accredited cancer care program in Davenport, IA is on the lookout for a dedicated Board Eligible/Board Certified Medical Physicist. This vibrant clinic emphasizes team-based, collaborative care in a supportive environment, working closely with a well-rounded team that includes physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, nurses, and more.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe therapeutic radiological physics to the Radiation Oncology Department.
  • Ensure equipment safety and quality patient care, while participating in teaching in line with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct patient-specific QA, chart QA, and linear accelerator QA.
  • Perform quality assurance of equipment and treatment plans and support Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and therapists.
  • Engage in calibration and commissioning of linear accelerators and radiation sources.
  • Implement new technologies as necessary and maintain a good work ethic in a team-oriented environment.
  • Follow the on-call schedule with a ratio of 1:2, with no weekend duties.
Qualifications:
  • MS or PhD in Radiology/Radiological Sciences.
  • US Board Eligible (with plans to become Board Certified) or Board Certified in Medical Physics (ABR or ABMP).
  • Must be or be willing to become registered in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist.
  • Clean malpractice history.
  • Open to candidates seeking alternate shift schedules.
  • New graduates from residency programs expected to be Board Eligible are encouraged to apply.
License and Certification Requirements:
  • Must be registered or willing to register in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist.
  • IA license or willingness to obtain one.
  • Completion of the certification requirements set forth by relevant medical boards.
