Job Summary
Homeland has partnered with a leading community hospital to hire an Oncology Clinical Pharmacist. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Oncology Pharmacist to help rebuild and expand a hospital-based chemotherapy program. This role will work closely with oncologists, nurses, and the pharmacy team to provide expert oncology pharmacy services while also supporting inpatient pharmacy operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist with oncology experience who is looking to take on a dynamic leadership role in a growing program while maintaining clinical practice in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide oncology pharmacy services for the hospital, including chemotherapy preparation, verification, and patient education
- Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, and pharmacy technicians to ensure safe and effective chemotherapy administration
- Assist with the implementation of a new oncology EMR system and optimize workflow for chemotherapy preparation
- Guide and train technicians on mixing protocols and closed system transfer devices
- Support general inpatient pharmacy operations as needed, including verifying orders, rounding with medical teams, and providing patient consultations
- Participate in the development and expansion of the oncology pharmacy program, helping to increase patient volume and efficiency over time
- Ensure compliance with USP 797/800 standards and hospital policies for sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling
Requirements
- PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years of inpatient acute care experience with at least 1-2 years of oncology experience, OR a PGY2 residency in Oncology Pharmacy
- Washington State Pharmacist License (or eligibility for reciprocity)
- Ability to work in both oncology and inpatient pharmacy settings to provide depth to the team
- Strong collaboration skills with physicians, nurses, and technicians
