Job Summary:Our On-Call Nursing Assistants support with covering shifts when full-time staff take personal time off or call off due to illness. They perform as a member of the healthcare team under the supervision of a licensed nurse and enriches the lives of residents. Provides quality care and sustains the physical and mental well-being of our residents and their families. Shift Requirements: Must pickup at least 4 shifts a month, to include two weekend days.
Health Care Center Shifts:
- Day Shift, 6am-6:30pm
- NOC Shift, 6pm-6:30am (Additional $1.00 NOC Shift Differential)
Qualifications- Washington State Nursing Assistant Certified (Required)
- CPR certification (Required)
- Previous experience in long term care / skilled nursing preferred.
Essential Duties:- Performs grooming activities to include bathing, oral hygiene, hair, nail & foot care.
- Provides personal toileting care by assisting residents with bedpan, bedside commode, bathroom, perinea and incontinence care and collection of specimens.
- Documents care by means of electronic medical records software.
- Assesses residents by taking vital signs, weights, measuring intake and output.
- Assists with feeding residents and transports and escorts residents to and from activities.
- Performs transfers, lifting and positioning of residents to/from and in bed, chair, wheelchair and assists residents with the use of walkers, wheelchairs, and canes.
- Assists physicians and nurses with treatments and procedures and protects residents from complications and injuries.
- Marks resident's personal items and makes inventory of personal possessions.
- Reports to charge nurse any changes in resident status, unusual occurrences or behaviors and any problems with completion of assignment.
- Alerts management of any safety hazards, equipment repairs and supply needs.
- Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans and assists with admissions, room transfers and discharges.
- Alerts charge nurse of any resident and visitor complaints.
