About us:
People Serving People at St. Anne's Place provides emergency shelter to women or non-binary-led families and pregnant women. Shelter guests stay in private family bedrooms with shared bathrooms and receive meals and snacks. Intensive case management, children's programming, health and wellness opportunities, and parenting and early childhood education are also provided for each family. Staff are here to support these families on their journeys to stable housing.
What do we need:
People Serving People at St. Anne's Place is seeking an On-Call Evening and Overnight Advocate to make a direct and daily impact in the lives of the families staying at St. Anne's Place. This role works directly with guests, answering questions, ensuring the safety of the facility, and supporting guest needs.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver customer service to guests and building residents by answering phones and doors, addressing immediate guest concerns, and familiarizing guests with the building and available resources.
- Assist guests to include problem-solving, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, enforcing house guidelines and expectations, using a trauma informed lens and de-escalation techniques.
- Log guest contact, incidents and communication to the rest of the team and management, including End-of-Shift reports.
- Assist with daily rounds and flipping rooms between families, including deep cleaning of rooms and change bed linens.
- Assist with cleaning the dining room area at mealtimes.
- Ensure every person on the voucher is present and the bed count is up to date.
- Complete laundry.
- Ensure facility safety and complete incident reports as necessary.
- Attend meetings with Advocate Supervisor and All Staff meetings as required.
- Other relevant duties as assigned by Advocate Supervisor or Program Manager.
Pay and Benefits:
- $25.00 hourly.

- 1 2 years combination of education and experience in a social service or customer service role.
- 2 or more years' experience serving a multi-cultural, socially diverse population.
- 2 or more years' experience working with people experiencing homelessness.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must possess a valid Class D Driver's license.
Compensation details: 25-25 Hourly Wage
