On-Call Behavioral Health Specialist Location: San Diego, California Rate: $65/hour (1099 contract) Shifts: 12-Hour Day or Night Shifts (as needed/on-call) Make an Impact Where It Matters Most Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking On-Call Behavioral Health Specialists to support the emotional and behavioral health of children in DHS custody at federal processing facilities in San Diego, CA. This flexible, high-impact role is ideal for licensed clinicians looking to deliver trauma-informed care in a mission-focused, fast-paced setting while maintaining schedule flexibility. What You'll Do As an On-Call Behavioral Health Specialist, you will work alongside facility teams and fellow clinicians to provide direct behavioral health support to children in care. Your responsibilities will include crisis intervention, well-being assessments, and collaboration with multi-agency teams to ensure safe and effective care delivery. Core Responsibilities Serve as a key resource for staff regarding behavioral health and child well-being Conduct rounds to monitor emotional and psychological health of children Provide trauma-informed de-escalation and crisis intervention when needed Offer clinical guidance on behavioral health practices and care strategies Collaborate with CBP, HHS ORR, NGOs, and medical providers to coordinate care Support decisions regarding developmental, psychological, and medical needs Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all services delivered Recommend and support improvements to child-centered care environments Schedule & Shift Details 12-hour shifts: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM or 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM Shifts assigned based on facility needs and staff availability May include weekend, holiday, and short-notice coverage Requirements Master's or Doctoral degree in a behavioral health field Active, unrestricted license as one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LICSW) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Psychologist (LP) Minimum 2 years of post-licensure experience in: Child development Trauma-informed care Clinical evaluations Spanish/English bilingual preferred (minimum ILR 3/5 or equivalent) Experience working in a multidisciplinary, high-intensity care environment Ability to adapt quickly to evolving program needs and operational demands Why Join Blue Rose?
