We are seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Instructor (Contractor) to join our Houston training facility. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality training programs focused on well control, drilling operations, and safety practices for the oil and gas industry. This role is essential in providing practical and theoretical instruction that prepares industry professionals to work safely and effectively in challenging drilling environments. The instructor will work under the guidance of Senior Instructors to deliver IADC & IWCF-accredited courses and other specialized training programs.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver standard oil and gas training courses following established curriculum and training methodology
- Conduct classroom instruction, simulator exercises, and practical training sessions
- Evaluate and assess participant performance using standardized evaluation tools
- Maintain training equipment and ensure proper setup for practical exercises
- Provide constructive feedback to course participants
- Document training activities and maintain accurate training records
- Participate in regular instructor development sessions to enhance teaching skills
- Assist in the maintenance and basic updates of training materials
- Support Senior Instructors during specialized or advanced training courses
- Follow quality assurance procedures to maintain training standards
- Stay current with industry developments and best practices in oil and gas operations
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols during practical training activities
We are looking for
Qualifications and Requirements
Essential
- Technical diploma or degree in Petroleum Technology, Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in oil and gas operations, preferably in drilling or well services
- Current IADC/IWCF WellSharp/WellCAP certification (Driller level or higher)
- Basic knowledge of drilling operations, well control principles, and equipment
- Previous experience in training delivery or knowledge transfer preferred
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Computer literacy and familiarity with learning management systems
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally
- Strong safety mindset and commitment to safety standards
Desirable
- Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field
- Experience with simulator-based training (DS 6000, iDrillSim)
- Basic instructor certification or Train-the-Trainer course completion
- Knowledge of multiple areas within oil and gas operations
- Experience with different teaching methodologies
- Familiarity with IADC, IWCF, or other industry training standards
- Previous experience in adult education or technical instruction
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods during instruction
- Capacity to demonstrate equipment operation and handling procedures
- May require occasional lifting up to 30 lbs
- May involve working in simulator environments for extended periods
Working Conditions
- Primary location: Maersk Training Houston facility
- Contractor position with standard working hours (occasional evening or weekend work may be required)
- May require occasional travel to other training facilities or client sites (up to 10%)
- Work in various training environments including classrooms, simulators, and practical training areas
