X-ray Technician at Yale New Haven Health summary: An X-ray Technician is responsible for performing radiologic imaging procedures to aid in patient diagnosis while ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging. The role involves operating complex radiographic equipment, maintaining patient records, and ensuring the proper functioning of machines under the supervision of the department manager. Under the direction of the department manager, performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to insure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients. Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, operating suites and at the patient's bedside, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality images using the A.Understands and is able to utilize operating room and x-ray equipment. Performs various clerical duties including, but not limited to 1 Verification of information (to include reading and verifying physican written order) and exams performed, using CR, DR, and PACs immediately after completing exams. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his /her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job related hazards. Must be a graduate of an approved twoyear program. Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiology Technology. Will consider new grads.
