PROGRAM NAME: Child Care Food Program (CCFP)

POSITION TITLE: Child Care Food Program Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Director of Nutrition

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for recruitment and training of all CCFP participants/providers and oversight of daily program operations. Training and monitoring of program participants. Coordinating monitoring patterns as required by Child & Adult Food Care Program (CACFP) guidelines by USDA Food & Nutrition Service. Position is 4 days a week (32 hours) with full benefits and no weekends.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee and manage daily operations of program by tracking all pertinent information regarding Providers.
  • Recruit, train, and provide follow-up to all CCFP Providers. Responsible for preoperational visit to Provider which includes initial application, and technical instruction on program regulations, and the collection of information necessary to determine Tier status. Responsible for follow-up training, recording changes in status and yearly application renewal as required. Requires extensive travel within eight county region.
  • Monitor Providers to ensure adherence to program standards. Coordinate monitoring pattern for self and/or monitoring staff in order to ensure proper rotation of visits and meals observed. Check menus used by Providers to ensure proper nutritional guidelines are followed. Monitor, document, and report problems with Providers who fail to follow standards.
  • Maintain all CCFP records, Provider files, and information necessary for Tier determination, licensing status, and enrollment changes of all Providers. Examine all Provider income documents and determine Tier status.
  • Arrange/conduct all Provider trainings and in-service meetings.
  • Attend CCFP staff trainings, CACFP conferences and other trainings for professional development and growth as required.
  • Maintain close working relationship with state and local DHS professionals by phone contact, meetings, collateral monitoring visits, and other correspondence to ensure open communication and adherence to rules and regulations within the CACFP and to coordinate compliance of state licensing / registration requirements for Day Care Homes.
  • Presenting information for auditors, state program monitors, and annual reporting requirements.
  • Abide by FTHRA personnel policies as may be amended at times.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Ability to work independently and maintain a regular, cyclical schedule in order to meet required monthly deadlines. Effective communication skills in training and supervising new Providers while monitoring self/staff. Ability to understand, follow, and teach strict adherence to Federal CACFP rules and regulations. Basic computer skills desirable. Must be highly organized.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited high school or completion of G.E.D. is required. Two years of post-secondary education in childhood development or nutrition, or experience in day care administration preferred. Experience and working knowledge of state and local licensing requirements for day care providers is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work independently and maintain a regular, cyclical schedule in order to meet required monthly deadlines. Effective communication skills in training and supervising new Providers. Ability to understand, follow, and teach strict adherence to Federal CACFP rules and regulations. Must be highly organized and able to travel locally in personal vehicle. Must have valid Tennessee driver's license, proof of insurance is required and maintain acceptable DMV report. Must pass criminal background checks.
