Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is working with a local manufacturing leader to find several off-shift Machinists (2nd or 3rd shift). The Machinist will be responsible for operating one or more types of computers numerically controlled production equipment.
- Select appropriate tooling, programs, and settings, holding tight tolerances and adjusting as necessary.
- Writes and edits programs as necessary.
- Perform tooling changeovers and keep the work area organized
- Collaborate to recommend changes or modifications to improve the efficiency of machining operations.
Essential FunctionsSet up and operate various CNC machines (Lathe or Mill)
Perform edits using conversational programming or G&M code on 2-3 axis CNC machines
Can machine threads and complex features
Select, set up, adjust, and operate specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision operations
Align and secure holding fixtures
Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including but not limited to turning, facing, and knurling. Understand basic GD&T and dimensioning practicing principles
Ability to identify and analyze tooling; Tap, end mill, drill, groove tool, ETC.
Set up and operate Mazak Integrex-type machines or vertical mills with a 4th or 5th axis
Effectively demonstrate Mastercam, NC, or proficient in conversational programming capabilities
Understand fixturing requirements to assist in the development of medium-complexity fixtures
Simultaneously run multiple CNC machines, both lathes and mills
Optimize tool paths for efficiencies
Assist with cross-training of new employees
Ability to effectively operate 3 or more CNC work centers or 1 CNC work center and all manual operations
QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical schooling or degree preferred
3+ years' experience and training in Mazak, HAAS, and Manual Machines in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to read basic prints, and technical drawings and operate equipment in a safe, efficient manner
Ability to use various types of inspection equipment; micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.
Performs first and last part inspection
