Our Portland office is currently seeking a career minded, results oriented Project Coordinator to assist our Ocean Export team from within. We are looking for an individual that is results oriented while also promoting collaboration and out-of-the box thinking. This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: - Promoting a positive relationship with TLR's clients, other team members, and vendors by ensuring accurate, timely and proactive customer service.
- Interacting with external and internal customers to gather information and establish proper protocol on new shipments to satisfy the client's needs prior to the final hand-off to the appropriate operations team member.
- Liaise between Business Development, Export and Routing teams.
- Ongoing research and quoting for established clients on an as-needed basis.
- Engaging in proactive cross-training in order to ensure seamless customer service on all accounts in the department.
- Experience working with ocean carriers to make bookings, submitting SI's and altering bookings on an as-needed basis.
- Obtaining and negotiating shipment rates with carriers and vendor rates.
- Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
- Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution.
- Ability to stay current on international import/export regulations.
Desired Skills and Experience: - Minimum of 4 years work experience as an Export Freight Forwarder including Customer Service aspects.
- Detail oriented and strong organizational skills required.
- Strong verbal/communication and math skills are required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs a plus.
- Ability to remain calm and prioritize in high stress situations.
- Strong Problem-Solving skills required.
- DG/HAZMAT/ITAR knowledge and experience
