POSITION SUMMARY: Assesses and treats patients with illness, injury, or impairments in daily living activities. Aims to help patients regain skills for optimal independence while reducing joint strain and preventing further damage. Develops, implements, and monitors care plans, collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Doctorate, Masters, or Bachelors in Occupational Therapy. CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: New Mexico Occupational Therapy licensure & BLS certification. SKILLS: Strong assessment, decision-making, communication, and organizational skills. EXPERIENCE: One year of Occupational Therapy preferred. ENVIRONMENT: Clean, well-ventilated, smoke-free; potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous chemicals.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Good physical condition; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and manage patient transfers.
