JOB DESCRIPTION:
An Occupational Therapist helps patients with physical impairments develop, regain or maintain their ability to perform daily activities through varying skills and techniques or using adaptive equipment. STARTING SALARY: $64,350 - $72,150 Depending on experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducting physical and psychological assessments of clients and developing or following a treatment plan.
Participate in family care plan meetings and educate caregivers and family members of clients on patient care.
Evaluating patient condition regarding physical and primary mental health and evaluating results and progress of occupational therapy on patients.
Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals regarding the patient.
Demonstrate ability to work with senior residents.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from a university certified by the ACOTE (Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education) or AOTA (American - Occupational Therapy Association).
Current OT license in NYS - required
Must have knowledge, skills, and techniques of age-specific developmental factors and be able to evaluate patients.
Must have up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programs.
Experience in long-term care - preferred
Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable.
