Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will work in various settings, including clinics and hospitals, providing therapeutic services to patients with diverse needs. This role focuses on helping individuals improve their ability to perform daily activities, enhance their quality of life, and achieve their personal goals. The Occupational Therapist will work closely with patients of all ages, including those with autism and disabilities, and will be involved in discharge planning for patients transitioning from inpatient care.
Duties
- Assess patients' physical and mental abilities through observation and standardized tests.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations and goals.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve patients' functional abilities in daily living activities.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment options and strategies for improvement.
- Document patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide support in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition from hospital or inpatient settings to home or outpatient care.
- Maintain a safe and organized therapy environment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology and human anatomy relevant to occupational therapy practices.
- Experience working in clinic settings as well as inpatient environments such as ICU or hospitals.
- Familiarity with therapeutic techniques for pediatrics and individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals on the autism spectrum.
- Excellent patient service skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards patients' needs.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and families.
- Ability to adapt treatment approaches based on individual patient requirements.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
