Description: Scope of Job The primary role of the Occupational Therapist is to skillfully evaluate patients' functional ability to complete ADLs, transfers, develop plan of care, treat and assess, discharge planning and delegate tasks to supportive personnel for a variety of patients to assist in overall care for the patient. This includes orthopedic, ICU and general med/surg patients in accordance with physician's referral to skilled therapy services, and to facilitate quality care, safety and individualized treatment plans for each patient.
Experience and Educational Requirements- Master's of Science in Occupational Therapy
- Current/up-to date Michigan OT license
- At least 2years experience in an inpatient setting
- BLS certification
Minimum Skills- Interpersonal skills to effectively and accurately communicate with interdisciplinary team and patients
- Organizational skills to keep track of deadlines, patient status and fast changing environment
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently between various patients
- Strong advocate for patient needs
- Facilitate ethical patient care
- Efficient computer/typing skills
