Position Overview:
Little Land Pediatric Therapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to improving the lives of children through comprehensive occupational therapy services. Experience working with feeding is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the occupational therapy needs of pediatric clients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and specific needs of each child.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services, including interventions to enhance motor skills, sensory processing, self-care skills, and feeding abilities.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and effective treatment outcomes.
- Monitor and document progress towards therapy goals, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies to support the child's development at home.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities to stay current with best practices in pediatric occupational therapy.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program, as required by the Texas State Licensure Board.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Texas.
- Experience working with pediatric populations in a clinical or educational setting.
- Knowledge of sensory integration, motor development, and other relevant pediatric therapy techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with children, families, and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.
- Experience working with feeding and swallowing disorders is preferred, but not required.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with research and best practices in pediatric occupational therapy.
