Job Title: Occupational Medicine Physician Overview
Join our well-established outpatient clinic in Texas, offering comprehensive occupational health services in a spacious, state-of-the-art facility. We re seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Physician to provide expert care for workplace-related injuries and regulatory physicals while overseeing a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.
Clinic Details
- Location: Primary clinic is a 10,000-square-foot facility equipped with six exam rooms, one trauma room, a nurses' station, phlebotomy room, audio booth, EKG room, X-ray room, two drug screening stations, and a large physical therapy space.
- Additional Facility: A second location staffed by a Midlevel provider, not intended for the new physician's practice.
- Support Staff: Medical Assistants, Phlebotomists, Radiography Technicians, and a referral coordinator.
- Technology: EMR system Net Health, designed for occupational medicine.
Position Details
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch break. Flexibility required for injury-related cases extending past regular hours.
- Start Date: Early 2025, with flexibility for the right candidate.
- Patient Volume: Average of 27 patient encounters per day, ranging from 24 to 43. Monthly encounters vary from 471 to 867.
- Case Mix: Primarily DOT and non-DOT physicals, with a variety of work-related injuries, including lacerations, sprains, burns, fractures, foreign bodies, and other occupational injuries.
- Required Procedures: Suturing, initial X-ray evaluation, joint and trigger point injections, interpretation of pulmonary function tests, audiograms, EKGs, and lab results.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care for work-related injuries and regulatory physicals.
- Manage cases from initial visit to recovery, including documentation, referrals, and treatment plans.
- Write detailed and accurate documentation addressing causation, injury mechanism, and diagnosis.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective care, timely referrals, and patient follow-ups.
- Minimize unnecessary ER visits by effectively managing cases within the clinic.
Qualifications
- Education: Residency training not required; candidates from Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or other specialties considered.
- Certifications: DOT certification through the NRCME registry required.
- Licensure: Active Texas medical license required; IMLC state preferred.
- DEA/CSR: Required.
- Skills: Proficiency in suturing, X-ray interpretation, and performing joint/trigger point injections.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $225,000 annually.
- Sign-On Bonus: $15,000.
- Relocation Assistance: $5,000.
- Paid Time Off: 120 hours annually, accrued at 5 hours per pay period.
- Holidays: Closed for six major holidays (New Year s Day, Christmas, Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, Labor Day).
- CME: Three days and $1,500 for related expenses.
